Arti Kapur Design Studio
Interior design for homes
Whole homes and single rooms, planned from the way you actually live in them. Everything is designed on paper first: layouts, storage, lighting, surfaces, furniture and the one place colour will go. Then it is built, by our craftspeople or by your contractor to our drawings.
What is included
Site survey and measured drawings. Layout options. Material, colour and lighting plans. Furniture drawings for anything made to order. A costed schedule so you approve the budget before purchases begin. Site supervision through handover.
How long it takes
Design takes three to six weeks depending on the size of the home. A single room is on site for four to eight weeks; a full apartment for three to five months.
Rooms we design most
Living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, balconies and entrances, which is where the carved doors go.
Fees
Design fees are quoted per project after a site visit and shown separately from execution. Our cost guide explains the published ranges for Mumbai and Delhi.
Questions people ask
Do you design the whole home or room by room?
Either. Even when we start with one room we draw it so the rest of the home can follow the same language later.
Can my own contractor build your design?
Yes. Our drawings are made for a contractor to build from, and we supervise the work on site.
What styles do you work in?
One: our own. Lime-washed walls, restored carved wood, cane, brass, terracotta, plants and colour in exactly one place. If that is not what you want, we will say so at the first meeting.
Do you handle electrical and plumbing drawings?
We produce the design intent for lighting, switches and fittings and coordinate with your electrician and plumber. Statutory drawings, where required, come from a registered architect or engineer.
How do changes during the project work?
Changes to approved drawings are priced before they are made, so there are no surprises in the final bill.
