A boutique interior design studio
Boutique means one designer and a few craftspeople, not a brand with a sales team. Arti Kapur draws every home the studio takes on, supervises it on site, and limits the number of projects running at once so that each one gets her attention.
What boutique means here
The person you meet at the first site visit is the person who designs the home and the person who is there at handover. There is no account manager in between. Furniture is made to drawings for your rooms. Old pieces are restored by hand. We say no to projects we cannot give time to.
What it is not
Not a catalogue of packages priced per square foot. Not a glossy finish applied to every home regardless of who lives in it. Not a studio that disappears once the contractor starts.
The language of the rooms
Lime-washed walls. Antique carved doors and jharokha panels repainted in one bright, chipped colour. Cane, brass, mosaic, terracotta underfoot and plants in every window. Colour arrives in exactly one place and stays there.

Questions people ask
How is a boutique studio different from a large interior company?
A large company sells standard packages through sales staff and executes through many crews. A boutique studio designs each home individually, with the lead designer involved throughout, and makes furniture for the space rather than picking it from a range.
Is a boutique studio more expensive?
Design fees are usually similar. Execution costs depend on the finishes you choose, not on the size of the studio. Where a boutique studio saves money is in restoring what you own instead of replacing it.
How many projects does the studio take on at once?
Few enough that Arti is on site every week for each one. When the diary is full we offer a later start date rather than take the job.
Do you do commercial spaces?
Mainly homes. Small studios, cafes and boutiques that want a residential feel are considered by arrangement.
Can I see finished homes?
Project photography is shared on request, and the walkthrough on the home page shows the studio's language room by room.
